Norpol Recycling
Norpol have been trading and recycling polythene for over 20 years and operate one of the largest independent waste management and plastic and polythene recycling facilities in England covering the whole of the UK. It is Norpol's policy to divert the maximum amount of waste away from landfill and to recycle as much as possible.
“Energy is a complicated beast and when you’re busy doing your day-to-day job it can be difficult to manage it well.
“I feel comfortable that I can rely on Red Hawk’s knowledge and expertise to manage my electricity spend and I couldn’t recommend them enough.”
Challenge
Norpol operates a waste management and recycling facility in Burnley, Lancashire, and in recent years has invested heavily in new land and machinery to expand its operations.
More machinery, of course requires more electricity to power, and as such, Norpol saw its energy prices started to creep up.
Steve Barnes, Managing Director of Norpol, said: “We knew we had to tackle the issue of rising prices before it became unmanageable, so we decided to speak an energy consultant to get some advice.
That energy company was Red Hawk.
Solution
Red Hawk carried out an analysis of Norpol’s existing bills and did some number crunching. They found that should Norpol change their electricity from a fixed term contract to a flexible one, they could well save in excess of 30% on their energy spend.
Billy Ingham, Managing Director of Red Hawk, said: “Being on a flexible contract enables businesses to take advantage of the market lows and lock in prices at optimum rates.
“We are here to advise them all the way and make sure they are getting the best prices available to them throughout the life of the contract.
“We also made sure that Norpol was placed on a green tariff, as by nature of what they do, we recognised that sustainability and carbon reduction were important to them and to their customers.”
Result
Norpol are more than happy with their new flexible contract, and with the service offered by Red Hawk.
Steve added: “Energy is a complicated beast and when you’re busy doing your day-to-day job it can be difficult to manage it well.
“I feel comfortable that I can rely on Red Hawk’s knowledge and expertise to manage my electricity spend and I couldn’t recommend them enough.”
